The Punk Rock Museum’s Second Year Anniversary

Earlier this year, I had the chance to step into a different role—giving tours at the Punk Rock Museum in Vegas. Walking people through the space, sharing stories, and seeing their faces light up at the history packed into those walls was seriously cool. One of my favorite moments was donating my old Ghost bass to the museum—yeah, that bass. It felt right knowing it’s now part of punk history, where fans from all over can see it up close. And in March, I got to be part of the Museum’s second anniversary roundtable alongside legends like Fat Mike, George Stephanopoulos, Jack Grisham, Kevin Lyman, and Edward Colver. Swapping stories, cracking each other up, and just celebrating two years of this punk rock time capsule—it was a reminder that even after all these years, this community still means everything to me. Zrocker and Yahoo News have a great review of the weekend!

Brazil with Garbage & The Monics

Kicking off our 2025 run, L7 hit Brazil this past March alongside Garbage and The Monics. The reviews coming out of those shows have been seriously humbling—words like ferocious, tight as hell, and timeless have been floating around. Whiplash caught on about how much we love visiting Brazil, from São Paulo to Rio. Write-ups mentioning how our sound still feels as urgent today as it did in the ‘90s… that’s the kind of review that keeps a band fired up and grateful.

    Little Steven’s Underground Garage Cruise

Fast forward to May, where we set sail on Little Steven’s Underground Garage Cruise from Miami to Nassau. It was our first time playing on a cruise ship, and the vibe was electric in a whole different way. The Los Angeles Times was even on board and had some nice words to share about the event in their review. Journalists and blogs mentioned how cool it was to see punk, garage, and alt-country bands share a stage, and how L7’s set felt like a standout moment of the trip. A lot of people highlighted our connection with the crowd, and honestly, that was mutual. We thought so too.

A few weeks back, L7 had the honor of ripping it up in Chicago as part of the inaugural Motoblot Festival, and let me just say—they nailed it. Everything ran tight and professional, which doesn’t always happen with new events. From the second we rolled in, the vibe was pure Chicago: loud, real, and ready to rock. The crowd brought serious heat, singing along, jumping around, and giving us that wild Midwest energy we love. Between the killer bands, the bikes, and catching up with old friends in the scene, it felt like exactly where we were meant to be. Big thanks to everyone who made Motoblot happen—we’d jump on board again in a heartbeat.

    A Year of Loud Praise

Overall, 2025 has been shaping up as a year full of loud praise and louder shows. Whether it’s major outlets or smaller fan blogs, there’s been a genuine appreciation for how L7 keeps showing up—no frills, all fire. Huge thanks to everyone writing about these shows, snapping photos, and sharing their words. It means a lot. And if you’ve got a review or memory from one of our gigs this year, tag us or drop a line. We see you. To see other L7 2025 Tour Dates and Shows, click here.

Video Discussion with Fat Mike, Jennifer Finch, George Strombo, Kevin Lyman

I’m excited to share that—our Punk Rock Museum 2nd Anniversary Roundtable is on on YouTube.

In Full Form: Fat Mike, Jennifer Finch, George strombo, Kevin Lyman, Ed Colver, and Jack Grisham Had a Lot to Say

When you bring together Fat Mike, Jennifer Finch, George Stroumboulopoulos (Strombo) Kevin Lyman, Ed Colver, Jack Grisham, and Vinnie Fiorello, you get more than a roundtable—you get a full-force collision of punk history, sharp insight, and razor-edged wit. The conversation at the Punk Rock Museum swung from irreverent to reflective, with each voice offering a different lens on the cultural legacy and raw impact of punk—from the stage to the streets and everything in between.

    Punk Rock History

We delved into everything from punk’s past, history and cultural impact to the peculiarities of growing up with it ingrained in our DNA. I wasn’t sure what the dynamic would be like, but the chemistry was sweet and everyone brought something different to the conversation. The respect in the room was legit. Whether you’re a lifer or just punk-curious, you won’t want to miss this.

Punk Rock Museum Turns Two: Reflections, Rants and Ed Colver

Two years in, and the Punk Rock Museum is still standing!

No one’s nodded out on the Kurt Cobain couch with a lit cigarette, and no one’s repelled through the skylight, Mission: Impossible-style, to swap out Joe Strummer’s weed with a fake. And somehow, despite the ancient relics, the noise, and the ghosts of a thousand van breakdowns, the walls aren’t bleeding or chanting Suicidal Tendencies lyrics backwards. However… did anyone else notice the basement no one knew was there, flooded with the blood of mall punk past? Creepy.

Congratulations PUNK ROCK MUSEUM TWO-YEAR ANNIVERSARY. Two Well-earned years! The party was a fantastic reunion—I got to sit down with Fat Mike, Kevin Lyman, Jack Grisham, and Vinnie Fiorello—held together by George Stroumboulopoulos—and we talked about the early days, the middle days, why there seem to be no end-days, and why community still matters. Each person brought such a unique perspective and was funny as f*ck. Every photo of the event shows me mid-laugh, making some awkward faces!

The next day, we flipped the script and I had the honor of interviewing the legendary Ed Colver. If you’ve ever seen a photo from the early Los Angeles punk scene that punched you in the gut, pulled at your heart, or made you stop and stare—he took it. We talked about the ethics of shooting from the inside, about documenting without exploiting, and why punk is, in its own way, about posing—but a kind built on intention and presence, not pretense.

Huge thanks to Lisa Johnson (rock photographer), Melanie Kaye, Nuit, Mike, and Vinnie Fiorello for trusting me with my first live interview moment.

And a big shout-out to all the bands who brought the fire: The Dollheads, Knuckleheadz, Playboy Manbaby, Voodoo Glow Skulls, and TSOL.

The “defining moment” goes out to Punk Hostage Press and Iris Berry for coordinating the touching presentations by Ron Emory and Jack Grisham in support of Mike Roche’s new book I Play With Giants. It was a raw embodiment of friendship and fellowship—of these amazing men and their commitment to music and each other. I think they said 50 years of friendship?

  • The Punk Rock Museum Gains The Ghost – RECAP

The Punk Rock Museum Gains The Ghost – RECAP

I had the honor of returning to The Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas a few weeks ago—the same place where walls talk, guitars still hum feedback, and the floors are sticky with adhesive and history. This time, I wasn’t just walking the halls—I was once again guiding people through them, telling stories, laughing, and even getting a little emotional.

The big moment was Donating The Ghost. That bass guitar has been through the trenches—sweaty clubs, cross-continental tours, and shady green rooms galore. Letting it go wasn’t easy, but seeing it in the museum, surrounded by a shared legacy, felt right. It’s not mine anymore—it’s ours.

Also, a HUGE shoutout to the Punk Scholars Network for inviting me to speak on a panel during my time in Vegas. It was an honor to sit alongside longtime friend and Museum maestro Fat Mike and Jessica Schwartz from UCLA’s Punkast and dig into the deeper layers of punk—its history, politics, and the personal stories that don’t always make the stage. The conversation reminded me how vital these academic and cultural spaces are in keeping punk’s spirit alive and evolving.

What blew me away, though, was you—the fans. The posts, the tags, the DMs, the interviews, the random shoutouts on social media—it’s been surreal. Seeing your photos from the tours, the selfies with the exhibits, and your reactions to the stories I shared (and those I didn’t) made everything more meaningful. You reminded me that punk is still alive—not just in the music, but in the people who keep showing up, decade after decade, with the same fire burning in their guts.

Some of you said walking through the museum felt like walking through your teenage bedroom. Others told me it helped you connect with your kids, your past, or a part of yourself that needed to scream again. That’s the heart of this whole thing.

So thank you. For showing up. For caring. For still giving a damn!

And if you haven’t made it to The Punk Rock Museum yet, what are you waiting for? Come find me—I’ll be the one standing by the bass with a story or two left to tell.
