A Strange Night Behind The Orange Curtain In July

If you told me that one day, L7 would share a bill with Lee Ving and a band from Tijuana called Hong Kong Fuck You, I’d probably have laughed you out of the room. But here we are—One Strange Night in Orange County—a wild, one-day blowout in Santa Ana with a lineup that looks like a chaotic mixtape spanning decades of punk music. And it’s in its second installment! L7’s honored to be one of the older guard on this bill, alongside the iconic FEAR, whom I saw and shot in the Hollywood punk scene’s salad days.

This event is more like a generational fist bump. You’ve got bands like local weirdos The Garden, Rohnert Park’s heavy hitters Ceremony, Detroit’s own electro-punks Snow Strippers, and the blast beats of Hong Kong Fuck You bringing their spin to punk’s ever-mutating DNA, while FEAR and L7 come in hot with our bruises, battle jackets, and loud-ass amps. I love that there’s no weird divide—just an all-out celebration of what happens when guitars get loud, drums get faster, and people decide they’ve had enough of sitting still. Punk never belonged to one era—it’s a living organism that keeps regenerating, even if it occasionally throws up on itself. Did I mention this is an all-ages event?

I can’t wait to hit Observatory and tear the roof off this thing! Whether you’re new to the pit or have been circle dancing since before cell phones, get sweaty with us! It’s gonna be loud, it’s gonna be weird, and it’s gonna be one hell of a strange night—in the best way possible. TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE HERE.

  • HIGH SEAS & HEAVY RIFFS: LITTLE STEVEN’S UNDERGROUND GARAGE CRUISE RECAP

HIGH SEAS & HEAVY RIFFS: LITTLE STEVEN’S UNDERGROUND GARAGE CRUISE RECAP

L7 set sail on a cruise ship for the first time—and leave it to Little Steven’s Underground Garage to throw the kind of floating rock ‘n’ roll circus that made it unforgettable. From Miami to Nassau, the vibes were high, the fans were sweet. Every now and then the boat would rock and we were reminded, “Damn, we are on a boat!”

The lineup was stacked, and the crowd brought that garage-punk soul every night!

L7 played three sets and each set we varied songs, adding in and taking some out. We played the standards and even some we hadn’t ever played together and one we have never played!

One of the best parts? We were catching up with old friends we hadn’t seen in too long (We used to sleep on Supersucker’s floor!) Many stories swapped, hugs and laughs shared over the weekend. There’s something magical about reconnecting miles from shore with people who’ve shared the same circuits and stages over the years.

Overall? The Underground Garage cruise was one for the books. Thanks to Stevie and the team for putting together such a killer event—and to every fan who rocked out with us in the middle of the Atlantic. L7’s first cruise gig? Total success. Even The Los Angeles Times had nice words about the whole event. We’re back on dry land, but our heads are still swimming in the best way. 💥

  • Motoblot x L7: Bringing the Noise Back to Chicagoland on June 28th!

Motoblot x L7: Bringing the Noise Back to Chicagoland on June 28th!

Next month, L7 returns to the Midwest to tear up the stage along the Chicago riverfront at Motoblot Festival with our friends Face to Face, Olivia Jean, The Darts, and tons more. This city has a special place in our heart with our history, and we always deliver to one of the most electric crowds in the country. They really give us so much whenever we touchdown, and it’s a HUGE reason why it’s so special to always come back!

    L7’s History In Chicago

Now, let me take you back for a sec (alright….longer than that)—L7 has played many Chicago stages. The city has always had a unique vibe since we were just a bunch of kids trying to make noise in the bigger venues. It’s the home of some of the most die-hard fans who’ve stood by us, and we always felt like we were playing for people who get it. Whether it’s at Metro, Aragon Ballroom, or the House of Blues, we’ve had some unforgettable moments there—and you know we’re about to add another one to that list at The Salt Shed. The full lineup for each night is available here.

    L7 Live In West Town

Motoblot isn’t just any festival—it’s a celebration of rock ‘n’ roll, punk, DIY, bikes, and the garage culture we love. This lineup is stacked, and we can’t wait to get in there, rev up the crowd, and let loose. It’s all about energy, noise, and unapologetic fun, and trust me, we’ll be bringing it all. If you’ve seen us play in Chicago before, you know the drill—expect loud guitars, sweat dripping, and a room full of people losing their minds. If you haven’t… well, now’s your chance to experience it! TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE HERE.

  • Punk Rock Museum Turns Two: Reflections, Rants and Ed Colver

Punk Rock Museum Turns Two: Reflections, Rants and Ed Colver

Two years in, and the Punk Rock Museum is still standing!

No one’s nodded out on the Kurt Cobain couch with a lit cigarette, and no one’s repelled through the skylight, Mission: Impossible-style, to swap out Joe Strummer’s weed with a fake. And somehow, despite the ancient relics, the noise, and the ghosts of a thousand van breakdowns, the walls aren’t bleeding or chanting Suicidal Tendencies lyrics backwards. However… did anyone else notice the basement no one knew was there, flooded with the blood of mall punk past? Creepy.

Congratulations PUNK ROCK MUSEUM TWO-YEAR ANNIVERSARY. Two Well-earned years! The party was a fantastic reunion—I got to sit down with Fat Mike, Kevin Lyman, Jack Grisham, and Vinnie Fiorello—held together by George Stroumboulopoulos—and we talked about the early days, the middle days, why there seem to be no end-days, and why community still matters. Each person brought such a unique perspective and was funny as f*ck. Every photo of the event shows me mid-laugh, making some awkward faces!

The next day, we flipped the script and I had the honor of interviewing the legendary Ed Colver. If you’ve ever seen a photo from the early Los Angeles punk scene that punched you in the gut, pulled at your heart, or made you stop and stare—he took it. We talked about the ethics of shooting from the inside, about documenting without exploiting, and why punk is, in its own way, about posing—but a kind built on intention and presence, not pretense.

Huge thanks to Lisa Johnson (rock photographer), Melanie Kaye, Nuit, Mike, and Vinnie Fiorello for trusting me with my first live interview moment.

And a big shout-out to all the bands who brought the fire: The Dollheads, Knuckleheadz, Playboy Manbaby, Voodoo Glow Skulls, and TSOL.

The “defining moment” goes out to Punk Hostage Press and Iris Berry for coordinating the touching presentations by Ron Emory and Jack Grisham in support of Mike Roche’s new book I Play With Giants. It was a raw embodiment of friendship and fellowship—of these amazing men and their commitment to music and each other. I think they said 50 years of friendship?
