There’s something refreshing about sitting down with someone who actually listens, and that’s exactly what happened when I joined Ray Harkin on the 100 Words or Less podcast. We covered a lot of ground, but it never felt rushed or forced—more like one of those long, honest conversations you fall into when the guard’s down, and the stories start flowing. Ray has a way of cutting through the noise and getting to what really matters, which made it easy to open up about where I’ve been and where I’m at now.
We talked about the early days, of course—the chaos, the energy, the community that shaped me—but also about the parts that don’t always get documented. Growth isn’t always loud or glamorous. Sometimes it’s quiet, internal, and hard-won. Being able to speak candidly about that evolution, both as a musician and a person, felt important. There’s a lot of mythology in punk, but there’s also a human side that deserves just as much space.
If you’re looking for a conversation that goes beyond the surface, this one’s worth your time. It’s not about nostalgia—it’s about perspective, survival, and staying connected to what drives you. I’m grateful to Ray for creating a space where those kinds of podcast conversations can happen, and for reminding me that sometimes the most meaningful stories are the ones we’re still in the middle of telling.
