The first interview of the New Year is up! I had such a blast sitting down with Drew and Lori for a recent episode of The New York Hardcore Chronicles. That show has such a deep respect for the history and community around hardcore, punk, and underground culture, so it felt less like an interview and more like chopping it up with people who truly get and live it. We talked about music, life, the weird paths we take to get where we’re going, and how those scenes shaped who we are—not just as musicians, but as humans.
What I really loved about the conversation was how honest and grounded it felt. Drew has a way of pulling stories out of you that you didn’t even realize you were ready to tell, and Lori kept things flowing with humor, insight, and heart. We touched on my journey through music, sobriety, photography, and finding purpose beyond the stage, while still honoring the stage’s importance to me. It was raw, reflective, and full of laughs—pretty much my favorite way to talk about anything.
And as if that wasn’t enough, my old friend Sindi from Lunachicks jumped in as a guest too, which made the episode even more special. I’ve got so much love for her, and having another woman from that era and scene in the mix added a whole other layer of energy and connection. It was one of those moments where you realize how lucky you are to still be sharing space, stories, and laughter with people who’ve been part of your world for decades. The New York Hardcore Chronicles team rules. Huge thanks to Drew, Lori, and Sindi for making it such a meaningful experience—definitely one I won’t forget.
